My North Texas vs UAB NCAAB Betting Preview
There are two teams with the potential to be an AAC big stealer in March: North Texas and UAB.
The Mean Green and Blazers are currently tied for second in the league standings, creating a monster Monday night matchup in the American.
North Texas beat UAB 78-75 in the first meeting between the two earlier this season, but the return game comes at a different point for both programs.
The Mean Green won six in a row before a disappointing four-point loss at home to UTSA.
Meanwhile, the Blazers have been red hot, as their only defeats since mid-December have come against North Texas and Memphis. In particular, Yaxel Lendeborg has been on an absolute tear, stuffing the stat sheet while scoring in double figures in every game except one since the calendar turned to 2025.
UAB has been underrated so far this season — especially considering it was the league's preseason pick ahead of Memphis — but in this game, the Blazers are actually overvalued by the books.
On Bart Torvik and Haslametrics, this game is considered a pick'em, but our Action PRO Projections have North Texas as a -3.5 favorite.
I'm willing to bet on the Mean Green winning this game, especially since it's a bounce back spot and their defense has been superb (34th in KenPom's adjusted defensive efficiency metric).
Plus, they held Lendeborg to just 12 points on 5-of-13 shooting in the previous meeting this season. That would be a recipe for a victory in this one.
