The Kentucky Wildcats and the Alabama Crimson Tide will clash in a massive SEC showdown on Saturday.

Kentucky enters this contest with a record of 18-8 while Alabama is 21-5. The Wildcats are ranked 17th nationally while the Tide are fourth.

Quickslip

Kentucky head coach Mark Pope has done an outstanding job in his first year in Lexington.

Pope was a surprise hire in the offseason after the departure of John Calipari, and the Wildcats have posted a record of 7-6 in the SEC so far under his tutelage.

Kentucky has struggled playing on the road this season, though, as they have a 2-5 record.

Pope's team is coming off an impressive 82-61 win at home on Wednesday against Vanderbilt. Kentucky was without two of their best players in that game — Jaxson Robinson and Lamont Butler — and they'll be without them again on Saturday vs. the Tide.

Junior Otega Oweh leads the Cats with 16.2 points per game. Robinson has averaged 13.3 points and 3.7 rebounds a night. Meanwhile, big man Amari Williams has added 10.8 points and a team-best 8.7 rebounds.

On the flip side, for the first time this season, Alabama has lost back-to-back games. The Crimson Tide lost a thriller at home last Saturday against the first-ranked Auburn Tigers. Alabama then suffered another loss mid-week on the road against Missouri.

Tonight's game is crucial for Alabama to bounce back on its home floor. The Tide support a conference record of 10-3, which is tied for second with the Florida Gators.

Alabama is 10-2 playing on its home court this season.

Senior Mark Sears leads the Tide with 18.5 points per game. Devils Lake, North Dakota, native Grant Nelson has averaged 12.5 points and 8.1 rebounds while Auburn transfer Aden Holloway has added 11.7 points and 1.8 assists.

Spread: Alabama -10.5

I would be stunned if Alabama lost playing on its home court after back-to-back losses.

As mentioned, the Wildcats are missing two of their top three scorers in this contest.

The Cats aren't deep enough to keep pace in this game.

Alabama Player Prop: Mark Sears Over 4.5 Assists

The pace of this game will favor the Tide.

Sears is the best playmaker on this Alabama team and will create many open looks for his teammates on Saturday.

The veteran guard is averaging 4.8 assists per game.

Alabama Player Prop: Grant Nelson Over 12.5 Points

The veteran has struggled over his last three games, averaging nine points per game.

Saturday is the perfect buy-low spot on Nelson, though.

He matches up exceptionally well with this Kentucky team and showed that earlier in the season when he scored 25 points against the Cats on January 18.
