The San Antonio Spurs (40-16) and Detroit Pistons (42-13) will square off in the NBA on Monday night. Tipoff from Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan is set for 7:00 p.m. ET on Peacock.

The Pistons are 1.5-point favorites over the Spurs on the spread (Pistons -1.5), with the over/under set at 232.5 total points. Detroit is a -122 favorite to win outright on the moneyline, while San Antonio is +102 to pull off the upset.

Let's get into my Spurs vs. Pistons predictions and NBA picks for Monday, February 23.

Spurs vs Pistons NBA Monday Preview

Sure, this is the game of the night because it's a three-game slate — but honestly, Spurs vs. Pistons would be the game of the night on almost every other night of NBA basketball right now.

There's a non-zero chance this is a Finals preview, though I wouldn't exactly call it "likely" given the caliber of contenders.

Still, it's the first time we will see the Pistons and Spurs share the floor this season, and the second will come on March 5 in San Antonio.

The Pistons have won five straight games, and they are 18-5 since December 30 following their last two-game losing streak.

The Spurs have won eight games in a row entering tonight, and have won 13 of their last 16.

The Spurs don't have any significant injuries, and the Pistons will remain without Isaiah Stewart due to his suspension.

Spurs vs Pistons Picks, Best Bets

I like Victor Wembanyama to make at least two three-pointers in tonight's game.

Wembanyama has shot just a combined 2-for-9 from long range over his last two games — but overall, he's taken four or more three-point attempts in six straight games and has gone over 1.5 threes in four of his last six.

The Pistons have an elite defense, but they don't do anything special to limit three-point volume. Although, they are actually pretty great at limiting quality looks.

However, the Pistons still allow the 16th-most three-point attempts per 100 possessions.

The Pistons just allowed four each from both Guerschon Yabusele and Jalen Smith in Jalen Duren's first game back from suspension.

I would be surprised if Wemby doesn't attempt to stretch Duren to the three-point line at least five or six times in this game.

So, I like him to make over 1.5 three-pointers in the Spurs' matchup against the Pistons tonight.
