We have three NBA props for this Friday, and our staff of basketball betting experts is focused on key players who could be in line for noteworthy performances in Game 3 between the Thunder and Nuggets tonight.
With a total that's currently as high as 233 in the market, we're projecting plenty of offensive production from the three players highlighted in our player props.
Continue below for my NBA player props for Friday, May 9.
NBA Player Props for Friday, May 9
- Russell Westbrook Over 17.5 Points + Rebounds
- Luguentz Dort Over 13.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
- Isaiah Hartenstein Over 18.5 Points + Rebounds
One of the best angles currently available is to back Russell Westbrook to go over his points + rebounds prop. The Nuggets' backup point guard has a prop line of 17.5—a number he has cleared in five straight games, and eight of his last nine when playing at home.
Denver accomplished its mission of winning at least one game on the road in Oklahoma City. While the Nuggets would've been disappointed to get blown out 149-106 in Game 2, the good news is that some of their key players got a bit of rest with the game no longer in the balance.
Westbrook played just 22 minutes, yet he was still productive enough to finish with 19 points and one rebound. With Game 3 likely to be more competitive, he should be in a great position to clear this line once again.
Pick: Russell Westbrook Over 17.5 Points + Rebounds (-120 at bet365)
Another prop that offers value is Oklahoma City's Luguentz Dort to clear his points + rebounds + assists (PRA) line of 13.5. Dort has covered this number in seven of his last nine games when facing an opponent ranked in the bottom third of the league for assists allowed.
The Nuggets certainly fit that criteria, ranking 29th in opponent assists (29.0 allowed) during the regular season. Dort has also cleared this line against Denver in four of their last five meetings.
In Game 2, Dort played 26.6 minutes, slightly lower than what we've seen him average during the playoffs (29). As a result, he finished with 12 points and one rebound but failed to register an assist for the game.
There's a decent chance that he'll return to his normal allotment of minutes in Game 3 if we get a more competitive effort this time around from both sides.
Pick: Luguentz Dort Over 13.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-135 at bet365)
Our final player prop involves Isaiah Hartenstein clearing his points + rebounds line of 18.5. The Thunder center is on quite a roll, covering this line in 14 of his 16 games when facing a bottom-10 defense.
During that stretch, Hartenstein is averaging 21.69 points + rebounds with a median of 21.5. Considering that he also averaged 11.2 points and 10.7 rebounds during the regular season, one might conclude that the sportsbooks have been a little slow to adjust his prop line.
Against Denver, Hartenstein has been even better, exceeding this prop line in five straight games with an average of 23.8 points + rebounds and a median of 22.
The Nuggets are having a torrid time pushing players like Hartenstein away from the rim as they're allowing a league-worst 52.7 points inside the paint during the playoffs. With Denver having to defend the two 7-footers on OKC in Chet Holmgren and Hartenstein, look for the latter to continue his success in putting up big numbers.
Pick: Isaiah Hartenstein Over 18.5 Points + Rebounds (-138 at FanDuel)
