The duo of Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns are absolutely eviscerating defenses in the pick-and-roll for New York, and it’s paying dividends for the Knicks’ offense.
Towns has been tremendous this season. He is averaging 25.1 points, 13.3 rebounds, and 3.1 assists on 53/44/85 shooting splits. His ability to not only stretch the floor on offense, but to attack on the interior while also dominating the boards has been critical for the Knicks' success.
His points + rebounds line is set at 38.5, and he blew by that with 36 and 16 in the Knicks' earlier matchup with Atlanta. Further, he has exceeded this mark in 50% of games this season, so we aren’t far off of his averages at all.
Considering Atlanta's defensive woes and that they play at the third-fastest Pace in the NBA, it is a clear Pace-up spot for the Knicks and KAT should get some extra opportunities here.
Pick: Karl-Anthony Towns Over 38.5 Points & Rebounds
While a blowout is a little bit of a worry, this is an NBA Cup game, so even if the game gets a little out of hand, I still expect Jalen Brunson to get a little extra run.
Brunson gets one of the best matchups on the board tonight. The Hawks have played at the 3rd-fastest pace in the league this season, and they rank below average defensively and well below average against guards.
I project Brunson for 28 points in tonight's contest, making this a great bet.
Pick: Jalen Brunson Over 25.5 Points

Steph Curry has cleared this number is eight straight matchups against the Rockets, and he enters tonight's contest having done it in three of his last five games overall.
Curry is averaging 23.3 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds in 32 minutes per game in NBA Cup play. Here, he gets a chance to have an even greater offensive role if Draymond Green remains with the bench unit.
Regardless, I think we could finally see a shorter rotation if the Warriors really try to win this game for the Cup.
Curry can be lethal in any given game, and although the Rockets’ defense is one of the best in the league, they’ve given up monster performances to guards such as Tyrese Maxey, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and even Anfernee Simons and Bones Hyland.
I’ll back Curry to put forward an all-around performance tonight.
Pick: Steph Curry Over 34.5 Points, Rebounds, & Assists
