Rockets vs Wizards NBA Monday Preview

The Rockets are now tied with the Timberwolves for third in the Western Conference following the latter's win over Denver yesterday.

After struggling heading into the All-Star break, Houston is now 4-2 since Burner Gate, though the Rockets were defeated by the Heat on national TV this past Saturday.

The Rockets beat the Wizards in the only matchup of the season between these teams by a score of 135-112. More on that shortly.

Injury-wise, it's extensive for the Wizards and will be for the foreseeable future.

Alex Sarr (hamstring), Trae Young (quad, knee), D'Angelo Russell (at the crib), Anthony Davis (finger) and Cam Whitmore (venous) are all out for the Wizards.

Tristian Vukcevic (thigh), Anthony Gill (illness), Leaky Black (ankle), and Kyshawn George (knee) are questionable.

Steven Adams (shoulder) and Fred VanVleet (knee) are still out for a prolonged period.

Jabari Smith Jr. (ankle) and Jae'Sean Tate (knee) are also out for Houston.

Rockets vs Wizards Picks, Betting Predictions

Reed Sheppard hit five three-pointers in the Rockets' lone matchup against Washington this season back in November.

Lately, Sheppard has been on a tear just regarding volume alone.

He has made four or more three-pointers in four straight games, and in six of his last eight.

We're also climbing the three-point ladder in this spot against the Wizards, who rank second-to-last in defense and allow the seventh-highest percentage of makes beyond the arc, along with the 10th-most attempts per 100 possessions.

Rockets vs Wizards Best Bets

  • Reed Sheppard Over 2.5 Three-Pointers Made (-174)
  • Reed Sheppard to Make 4+ Three-Pointers (+135)
  • Reed Sheppard to Make 5+ Three-Pointers (+300)
