Warriors vs Grizzlies NBA Preview
Who knows who plays for the Warriors here on the second half of a back-to-back after losing to New Orleans yesterday.
Kristaps Porzingis has been sick again with his rare condition. There’s no Steph Curry for Golden State, and Draymond Green is probably out after playing in the front half of the back-to-back.
However, the Grizzlies are also openly tanking.
There’s no good way to look at this from a side perspective, except that the Warriors want to win and the Grizzlies don’t, having lost six of their last seven games.
The Grizzlies have sat all their veterans, and Cedric Coward is also out with injury. There’s just not a lot left here.
The Warriors may have lost to the Pelicans, but they showed what they are capable of in Sunday's win over the the Nuggets.
The Warriors still shoot a lot of threes, the most in the league, and Memphis gives up the seventh-most threes defensively.
The math game alone benefits the Warriors.
The Grizzlies are also terrible at rim protection because, well, they aren’t playing any centers or really any bigs at all.
So, the Warriors’ back-cuts and lob attempts will be relatively unchallenged.
Warriors vs Grizzlies Betting Predictions
Warriors -4.5
The Grizzlies have some sneaky talented guys.
I think Olivier-Maxence Prosper could have a big game tonight, and GG Jackson has enough size to give an undersized Warriors team problems.
But ultimately, the Warriors have enough playoff-caliber rotation guys motivated to get this win after yesterday's loss.
Over 224.5
I like the Over here a lot.
For starters, when the Warriors have rest disadvantage this season, the Over is 9-5.
The Grizzlies are still 10th in pace and continue to try and get into sets quickly and challenge in transition.
With tired legs on the back-to-back road spot, Golden State doesn’t have the legs to keep up with a short rotation.
Of note, the last matchup in early February between these two teams (with Curry out) also went Over (114-113).
The total for tonight's matchup is nine points higher than that game, but I still think this looks like an Over spot, as I have it projected at 230.6.
