The Warriors will visit the Celtics tonight, and I'll be targeting Gui Santos in this matchup.
I don’t love the matchup for him. Facing the Celtics is pretty tough — but to me, this line just feels a bit too light.
Santos has gone over this number in 17 of his last 20 games. He is getting plenty of run, a ton of usage, and can basically do whatever he wants offensively.
Santos has also cleared this line in 100% of games without Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Moses Moody. He’s 7-for-7 in those spots, averaging 17.6 points per game.
Some of those matchups have been easier; others tougher — but he’s still gone over this line against teams like the Rockets, Thunder, Knicks, and Timberwolves.
I just don’t really understand this number. It is too low.
