Los Angeles Clippers vs. Toronto Raptors Preview, Best Bets

Scottie Barnes leads the Raptors in assists (6.5) and potential assists (12.4) per game, but he's done it largely without Immanuel Quickley, who's missed most of the season with injury.

Quickley returned in January after missing nearly two months and immediately became the primary distributor for Toronto. He paced the team in assists and potential assists across 6 games to start 2025. Barnes fell to 4.8 assists on 9.7 potential assists. Quickley went down again with an injury, missing another three weeks. He finally returned on Friday.

Barnes' assist rate has fallen by 6.7% with Quickley on the floor. He's averaged 4.9 assists in the 8 games they've played together.

Quickley only played 15 minutes in his first game back, but the Raptors were down by double digits heading into the 4th quarter.

A tighter game could've resulted in more playing time. I'd expect him to at least get up to minutes in the mid-20s today.

The Clippers led the league in defensive rating in January. They've allowed the 6th-fewest assists per game on the season.

The return of Kawhi Leonard has been a huge boost on the defensive end. LA's defensive rating has improved by 9.2 with Leonard on the floor. He's finally playing minutes in the upper-20s and could cross 30 soon.

The absence of Norman Powell should also mean more minutes for defensive-minded players like Derrick Jones Jr. and Terance Mann.

Best Bet: Scottie Barnes Under 5.5 Assists (+105)
