Los Angeles Clippers vs. Milwaukee Bucks Preview
Head Coach Ty Lue is confident that his team has the talent to make a championship run this season. Over the past decade, the Clippers have remained competitive but have struggled in the postseason.
LA has made the playoffs in five of the last six seasons but hasn’t advanced past the first round since 2021. However, they entered the All-Star break as one of the hottest teams in the NBA, riding a three-game winning streak. Their last loss came against the Indiana Pacers on February 6.
Veteran Norman Powell is having the best season of his career, leading the team with 24.2 points per game. James Harden has been a key contributor, averaging 21.5 points and 8.6 assists, while Kawhi Leonard has added 16.3 points and 4.6 rebounds in 15 games. As a team, the Clippers are averaging 111.0 points per game.
On the other side, the Bucks come into this matchup with a 29-24 record, placing them fifth in the Eastern Conference. After a slow start to the season, Milwaukee has been one of the league’s best teams over the past two months. Under Doc Rivers, expectations remain high for the second half of the season.
The Bucks have made the playoffs for eight straight years and won a championship in 2021. Rivers’ squad has won two of their last three games, looking to build momentum.
Former MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo continues to dominate, leading the team with 31.8 points and 12.2 rebounds per game. Damian Lillard has also been outstanding, averaging 25.8 points and a team-high 7.5 assists.
New addition Kyle Kuzma has made an impact, averaging 16.3 points and 8.5 rebounds in his four games with the Bucks. As a team, Milwaukee is putting up 114.3 points per game.
No one was more snubbed in the All-Star selections than Norman Powell this season. As mentioned, Powell is leading the Clippers in scoring, averaging 24.2 points per game.
