Jackie Young has seen her assist rate nearly double this season (through eight games). A lot of that has to do with Chelsea Gray, who has yet to make her season debut (leg injury).
However, recently acquired Tiffany Hayes has the second-highest assist rate on the team (after three games) and is starting to see more playing time. As a result, I think we'll see Young's assist rate start to dip a bit.
This is also a tough match as the Lynx allow the lowest assist rate per 100 possessions. They play at the second-slowest pace and have allowed the lowest eFG%. Additionally, their defense is even better than those numbers would suggest since they’ve faced the second-toughest schedule.
Courtney Williams has been averaging five assists per game this season, but the Lynx have been very careful with her playing time in blowouts. This should be a matchup where we see Williams play closer to her max of 28-33 minutes.
The Aces play at the fastest pace and are very good defensively inside. We're likely going to see Minnesota shoot more 3s here, and that should give Williams more potential assists.
