Alex Kolodziej’s Red Sox vs Mariners Preview
For tonight’s Red Sox vs. Mariners matchup, I’m backing Red Sox rookie Marcelo Mayer to record a double, listed at +650 odds on FanDuel.
Mayer’s an exciting young prospect who was promoted to the majors just last month. He and Roman Anthony will be tasked with picking up the slack in the Red Sox lineup with Rafael Devers no longer in the picture.
Over 19 games this season, Mayer’s tallied three home runs and three doubles.
Though T-Mobile Park, the Mariners' home field, isn’t typically known as a strong doubles venue, it’s yielded value recently; for example, our PRO Projections accurately predicted Kyle Manzardo hitting a double in the same environment just two days ago.
Red Sox vs Mariners Prediction, Betting Analysis
Action PRO models forecast Mayer to notch 0.20 doubles in tonight’s contest — translating to an implied fair price around +400.
Mayer’s admittedly on an 0-for-9 slump, and the challenging conditions T-Mobile Park presents for hitters early in series (batter’s eye, etc.) didn’t do him any favors yesterday.
Pricing in the doubles markets often tops out near +700. At +650, Mayer’s bounce-back potential in his second game at T-Mobile makes this bet a high-level pick for Tuesday night.
Pick: Marcelo Mayer to Record a Double (+650)
