The rough week continues with another 0-2 day on the MLB NRFI/YRFI front on Tuesday — though fortunately one of those was a half-unit long-shot pick. Let's break that losing trend on Wednesday.

I have two more MLB NRFI & YRFIpredictions for Wednesday, August 14.

Starting Pitchers: DJ Herz vs. Dean Kremer

The Orioles become one of the better YRFI teams in baseball thanks to the top of their lineup. Their first three hitters have a wRC+ of 120 or better, led by superstar shortstop Gunnar Henderson at 158.

They're (slightly) on the correct side of their platoon splits against the southpaw DJ Herz, who has first time through the order ERA and xFIP numbers in the mid-three range. Not bad by any stretch, but this is a tough Orioles team.

The case for Baltimore YRFIs gets stronger with Kremer on the mound, thanks to his 4.55 xFIP and 4.52 xFIP his first time through the order. Washington doesn't quite have the offense Baltimore has, but the Nationals are projecting similarly thanks to the matchup.

Billy Ward's A's vs. Mets NRFI/YRFI Bet

Starting Pitchers: Joey Estes vs. David Peterson

This isn't the most comfortable NRFI given the overall quality of the starting pitchers. However, it's got a few things going for it.

Both Estes and Peterson have much better first time through the order splits, with Estes' xFIP falling to 3.86 and Peterson to 3.54. Both of those are considerably better than their overall numbers, which are well above four.

The other important factor is the line at FanDuel, which is considerably better than most of the market. I'm seeing around -120 or worse nearly everywhere else, which is a strong sign on the FanDuel side.
