Braves vs Rangers MLB Betting Preview
Nathan Eovaldi has been cleared to start for the Rangers on Friday after getting scratched in his most recent start (back).
Injuries have been the only thing holding him back this season, as he’s been a stud otherwise, allowing one run or fewer in 10 of his past 11 starts. On the season, he’s posted a 1.58 ERA with a sub-three xFIP and SIERA.
Joey Wentz has pitched for three different teams and posted a 5.71 ERA this year.
However, I think the Braves are making changes to his arsenal, as he’s spamming cutters to great results. The cutter has always been his best pitch, so it makes sense to throw it in favor of his four-seamer, which has always been his worst pitch.
Wentz will also face a Texas offense that ranks among the bottom six MLB teams in OPS, wOBA, and wRC+ against southpaws this month. The lineup the Rangers rolled out against JP Sears on Wednesday had combined for a miserable .271 wOBA across 623 plate appearances against left-handed pitchers.
Pick: F5 Under 4.5 (-115)
