We begin NFL Week 2 with Thursday Night Football, as the New England Patriots and New York Jets face off at MetLife Stadium tonight, with kickoff at 8:15 p.m. ET on Prime Video.
Beyond spread and total bets, I'm looking at Patriots vs. Jets props for touchdown scorers for Thursday Night Football.
Here are my two Thursday Night Football picks for Patriots-Jets.
Patriots vs. Jets Touchdown Scorers
Coming off of getting 12 targets against the Seahawks on Sunday, I love Hunter Henry in this matchup.
Henry has seen the most targets among Patriots receivers against both man and zone coverages through two games. He's also seen at least one red-zone target in each game.
I know the Jets are a tough matchup in coverage, but they might struggle with linebackers Jermaine Johnson out and C.J. Mosley dinged up.
Rhamondre is the obvious choice at +125 with how poorly the Jets have defended the run. With the entire Patriots offensive line questionable and a low total of 38.5, I'm going with a couple of long shots on Thursday Night Football.
Tyler Conklin hasn't been productive yet this season, but I'm optimistic about the matchup.
Conklin is one of the few tight ends who is playing more than 90% of snaps this season. He's also running a route at a 93% clip through the first two games.
The Patriots defense also has been a bit lucky in how it has defended receivers who primarily operate in the middle of the field. Bengals tight end Mike Gesicki was centimeters away from scoring in Week 1, while slot receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba carved New England to pieces with 11 catches — and he also almost had a touchdown.
For me, it was either Conklin or rookie running back Braelon Allen at +350. With such a low total, I'd rather bank on the starting tight end who is usually on the field instead of the backup running back.
