This week, we make a Browns vs Commanders pick as Washington looks to help its march toward a playoff spot.

The Commanders could actually seal a playoffs spot if they win here, and then the Lions, Seahawks and Packers all lose.

The question for us, though, is how we'll be betting this game and there's one wager that really leaps out among the Browns vs Commanders odds board, which I'll get into below.

The Browns are officially out of the running for the playoffs but they still have two games left and it's crucial they use that time to further develop Deshaun Watson's role in the offense.

The controversial QB is a huge upgrade for the team, but given the amount of time he's had off the field it's going to take a while to get him back to his best, especially on a new offense.

Watson will continue to lean on David Njoku, with the tight end impressing this season. Elsewhere, Amari Cooper and Donovan Peoples-Jones are good wideouts, but they need to see more from rookie David Bell in these final few games.

The passing game will be secondary to the ground game while the Browns have Nick Chubb, who is an exceptional force even though he's now gone four games without finding the end zone.

The big news for the Commanders is that Carson Wentz is back under center and has another chance to prove his worth to the franchise. At times earlier in the season we saw some magic from Wentz, but other times we saw some of the flaws that saw the Eagles and Colts move on from him. Can he do enough to lead the team into the playoffs and rehabilitate his image?

Brian Robinson has improved with each game this season after a poor start to his career in Washington. It's not really a surprise given that he suffered a gunshot wound prior to the season, but his performances have shown that he doesn't need to be replaced in the offseason.

Wentz will be able to use the trio of Terry McLaurin, Jahan Dotson and Curtis Samuel against a passing defense that has only allowed an average of 201.5 receiving yards per game.

Betting Picks

One really bright spark for the Commanders, besides those incredible new uniforms, has been the performances of the rookie Dotson. The former Penn State WR, who was picked 16th overall, has spent some time on the injury table but in recent weeks he's been back to his best.

It's been six games since he returned from injury. In the first three he had just four targets for 27 yards and zero touchdowns. In the three since, he's had 24 targets, 235 yards and three touchdowns — one in each game.

Dotson is cooking right now and we saw earlier in the season that Wentz loves him and wasn't afraid to target him. He already has seven touchdowns in his rookie season, despite missing five games. He's a big talent and +290 to score this week at BetMGM is a must-bet.
