The Washington State Cougars will travel to Seattle to take on the Washington Huskies in the Apple Cup.

It's a lost season for the Huskies, who came into the season with Pac-12 championship game aspirations.

They had been ranked No. 20 in the country preseason but have gone 4-7 and are below average in just about every major offensive and defensive category, except their pass defense. They fired their coach last month and have still lost their two games since.

But Washington has dominated this matchup historically and have won the last seven straight matchups.

Washington State, too, fired their coach last month — though their decision came with external, off-the-field factors. Former coach Nick Rolovich refused to be vaccinated against the coronavirus. As a Washington state employee, one is required to be vaccinated. The university fired him for just cause as a result.

Since Rolovich's firing, the Cougars have been 4-0 against the spread.
