Warriors vs Knicks NBA Sunday Night Basketball Preview
Six Western Conference teams have clinched their play-in spots, but Golden State is under .500 and clawing to make a postseason push.
It won't be easy to snap its four-game losing streak against one of the three Eastern Conference teams that have clinched a berth in the play-in.
Things aren't looking good for the Dubs. Stephen Curry is out for an extended period with a knee injury, Jimmy Butler is out for the season with a torn ACL, and the Jonathan Kuminga trade for Kristaps Porzingis has yielded undesirable results due to the Latvian's mysterious illness.
While Warriors role players like Moses Moody and Gui Santos have shown signs of growth, they still need star power to win.
Their lack of go-to scoring and depth will likely be very apparent against one of the NBA's deepest teams.
Jalen Brunson is still leading the offense for the Knicks, but he's had to carry less and less of the offensive workload over time.
OG Anunoby and Karl-Anthony Towns have been especially helpful in March, as both are averaging at least 19.9 points per game this month.
Both have been extremely efficient from the field, but KAT's scoring might be more impactful in this matchup.
New York has a good chance to extend its winning streak to three games this weekend, as Golden State will likely need to get an abundance of points from someone unexpected to keep up against the league's fifth-best defense in terms of points allowed (110.7 per game).
De'Anthony Melton (knee), Moses Moody (wrist), Kristaps Porzingis (illness), Seth Curry (adductor), Draymond Green (back) and Al Horford (calf) have been ruled out for Golden State, and Quinten Post (ankle) is listed as questionable.
Josh Hary (knee) and Jeremy Sochan (illness) are questionable for New York.
Warriors vs Knicks Betting Predictions
Karl-Anthony Towns Over 19.5 Points
KAT's offense is down this year, but he's enjoying his most efficient shooting month of the season.
The Knicks big man has converted 62.4% of his field goals in March.
Towns has a great chance to stay hot against a Warriors team that's set to play without several key defensive contributors.
The Dubs have given up the sixth-most points per game (117.8) since Butler tore his ACL in January, and Green's absence will make things even more difficult for their frontcourt players.
Bettors should feel confident about KAT even though he's returning from a one-game layoff, as he's scored at least 21 points in three straight contests.
Warriors vs Knicks Best Bet
- Karl-Anthony Towns Over 19.5 Points (-115)
