Royals vs Rays MLB Betting Preview

Editor's Note: This written article is a transcription from today's episode of the Payoff Pitch Podcast.

Having Doug Eddings behind the dish knocks down my projected total closer to 7.5 — he’s maybe the most pitcher-friendly umpire in our database, which does give me a slight edge on the Under 8 at -110 or better.

It seems like both of these offenses are in a funk, while Luinder Avila was pretty OK in his most recent start (5.2 IP, 1 ER, 5 K, 1 BB). My hope is that Eddings will decrease the run scoring by giving Avila a few extra called strikes in the shadow part of the strike zone.

Pick: Under 8 (-110 or Better)
