Diamondbacks vs. Rangers Odds & Betting Predictions - May 13, 2026

This Rangers offense has been dead all season, but I think they can find success tonight against Zac Gallen, who they’ve had good success against in the past. In a large 130 plate appearance sample size, the Rangers are hitting .267 with a .270 xBA and .491 xSLG against Gallen. We have also seen Gallen simply not have it over the last few seasons. He currently owns a 4.70 ERA with a 5.43 xERA, 4.41 xFIP, and 4.54 SIERA. He’s posting the lowest Stuff+ grade of his career at just 89 and the lowest Pitching+ grade of his career at 98. Gallen’s breaking ball is getting crushed, ranking in the dead last percentile in run value. He’s also striking out batters just 14.8% of the time while allowing a 46.6% hard hit rate. Sure, the Rangers offense can be anemic, but Gallen’s .301 xBA doesn’t suggest he’s magically going to figure it out. In four road games this season, Gallen has a 7.13 ERA compared to a 2.61 ERA at home. He has been a significantly worse pitcher on the road for six straight seasons dating back to 2021. While Mackenzie Gore is also off to a rough start this season, his estimators make me feel much more comfortable backing him. He currently has a brutal 5.18 ERA, but owns a 4.15 xERA, 3.98 xFIP, and 3.93 SIERA. Gore is much better than he’s been pitching and is a positive regression candidate. Where Gore has really struggled this season is command. However, the Diamondbacks are second to last in walk rate this season at just 2.80 walks per game. Gore still owns a 27.3% strikeout rate and has been a significantly better pitcher at home this year. On the road he has an awful 6.38 ERA, but a much better 3.38 ERA at home. These offenses are comparable in these splits, so I’ll gladly back the better starting pitcher at home. I’ll leave the bullpens out of it and just take the first five innings. Our model has the Rangers as -199 favorites through five tonight.
