Brit Devine's Blue Jays vs Athletics Prediction, Betting Analysis
I have the 1st half at much higher odds for the Blue Jays than the books do tonight. I have Toronto starter Kevin Gausman as the better SP in this one, even with A's starter Jacob Lopez showing plenty of improvement.
Lopez's 54.4% flyball rate to right-handed batters looks very dangerous tonight in warm weather with the winds blowing out in a minor league ballpark with the highest ballpark factors for runs scored to right-handed batters this year. Toronto has the edge at the bats as well, as they should be able to roll out a nearly entirely right-handed lineup against Jacob Lopez, which really puts him on the bad side of his splits as a left-handed pitcher.
Toronto might be without some of their best bullpen arms today, so I'm condensing this to the first half of the game to take the bullpens out of the equation. Betting to win 2 units here on what I feel is a big mismatch.
