Miami Heat vs New York Knicks NBA Cup Preview

The Heat dropped a winnable game against the Cavaliers at home on Wednesday; a Cavs team that sat Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley, and again had Darius Garland out due to a legitimate re-aggravation of his toe injury.

The Heat beat the Cavs, who had Mitchell and Mobley on Monday, and lost to them Wednesday without them. Go figure.

Then again, still no Tyler Herro (ankle, foot surgery) or Bam Adebayo (toe sprain), or Terry Rozier (FBI), but ya know…

The Knicks are coming off their first home loss of the season, and overall, one of their worst performances of the campaign, losing 124-107 — and losing Jalen Brunson.

The superstar guard suffered a Grade 1 ankle sprain and is scheduled to miss the game.

Brunson could also miss more time, but is officially going to be evaluated on a day-to-day basis following the contest.

Brunson, Adebayo, Herro and Rozier aside, both teams are expected to be full go as of early Friday morning.

Mitchell Robinson over 7.5 rebounds, and Robinson to get 10 or more boards.

Robinson is averaging one rebound every two minutes. He has played five games and has gotten eight or more in all but one.

The Heat are, again, playing only one center: Kel'el Ware. That's it.

Since Bam left the Nuggets game due to injury, the Heat have been out-rebounded by 20 against the Hornets, by 10 against the Blazers, by four against the healthy Cavs, and by five against the Cavs' B-team.

The Heat have the third-best defensive rebounding percentage with Adebayo on the court at 74 percent, and they're the worst in the NBA at 62.2 percent when he's off.

The Knicks should own the glass, starting with Robinson, who might not lead the team due to minutes, but he'll set the tone and perhaps be the most efficient.

He's averaging around one offensive rebound every three minutes.

If Robinson plays 15-20 minutes, I think he'll get in range.
