Well, we got reverse swept for the second straight Saturday. However, last Sunday we hit on all three MLB player props to get back some of our losses, and I like our chances of doing the same this Sunday.
Let's not waste any more time and dive into the top MLB player props for today's slate.
MLB Player Props For Sunday, September 24th
Pitching outs props will be a theme in this piece as they have proven to be too low for the majority of major league pitchers. While there are many "five and fly guys" in the league, Yusei Kikuchi is not one of them.
Kikuchi has thrown at least five innings in 70% of his 30 starts this season. That hit rate gives us implied odds of -233 that he hits this mark again.
So we have established there is substantial line value, but what about the matchup? The Tampa Bay Rays are still formidable, but their lineup has taken some big blows of late.
Randy Arozarena has missed the last few games with quad tightness, and earlier this week, Luke Raley went on the IL. Kikuchi has already gone at least five innings in the two starts he's made against Tampa this season, and everything seems to be aligning for him to make it a hat trick this afternoon.
Pick: Over 14.5 Pitching Outs -165 (bet365)
Nathan Eovaldi is another veteran starting pitcher who has proven this line is almost an insult to him.
He will be making his second start back from injury, so there should be little concern about workload here, especially after he pitched five innings in his first start back against Boston.
This is a smash spot for Eovaldi at this price because he has surpassed this total in 81.4% of his last 43 starts.
That hit rate gives us staggering implied odds of -437. With that much line value, this is a bet we can't pass up, even if he is facing a red-hot Seattle Mariners lineup.
Pick: Over 14.5 Pitching Outs -185 (bet365)
There was some concern as to whether we would see Tigers' ace Eduardo Rodriguez again this season after he left his last start with back spams. However, Detroit's lethal lefty has recovered well and reported no issues during his bullpen session earlier this week.
It's great for us that E-Rod will pitch today because he has an excellent matchup against the Oakland A's, who enter with the fourth-highest Team Strikeout Rate in the majors.
On top of the great matchup, Rodriguez also has a strikeout total that is far too low for him. He has exceeded this total in 76% of his starts this season.
Much like the plays above, we have tremendous line value on this over as our implied odds are -316. However, our Action Labs projections also love this play and have him slated for 5.9 strikeouts today.
