For our first custom NRFI selection today, we have Miami Marlins' young ace, Edward Cabrera. This season, Cabrera has been exceptional with a 16–3 record to the NRFI. When facing batters the first time through the order, Cabrera has been impressive, allowing only a .205 average in 161 at-bats.
One of his most notable matchups today will be against Connor Joe (0–2) and Bryan Reynolds (0–2). Additionally, the Pittsburgh Pirates are currently on a 9–1 NRFI run in their last 10 games, bringing their overall NRFI record this season to 119–40, resulting in a 75% NRFI rate.
Our second custom NRFI selection today will feature Arizona Diamondbacks' ace, Zac Gallen. This season, Gallen boasts a 25–8 NRFI record, including an impressive 12–3 home NRFI split. This now makes Gallen 25-5 to the NRFI when pitching at home since 2022.
Against Houston Astros' batters in the past, Gallen has held his own, including Alex Bregman (2–11), Yordan Álvarez (0–3), José Abreu (0–2), and Kyle Tucker (3–10). Also to Gallen's advantage today, Alex Bregman is in the midst of a serious slump with just two hits in his last 24 at-bats.
