Just two weeks ago, UNLV hosted Fresno State and won 78-69. The Rebels never trailed in that game, as they made 45% of their shots.

UNLV has had an up-and-down season, but it seems like the Rebels are heating up at the right time. They come into this matchup just 1.5 games back of the conference lead and have won four straight contests. That's their longest win streak of the season, and they're likely confident they can extend it on Wednesday.

On paper, UNLV is better than Fresno State.

The only metric in which the Rebels trail Fresno State is free-throw percentage. That's important on the road, but UNLV has the schematic advantage needed to overcome that and take care of business.

Fresno State has won back-to-back conference games for the first time this season. Those came against San Jose State and Air Force — the two worst teams in conference.

Isaiah Hill, Xavier DuSell and Isaiah Pope make up one of the best guard trios in the conference. However, they've been injured at various points this season and have never really clicked.

That being said, it seems like it's only a matter of time until they combine for 60 points and knock off one of the top dogs in the conference.

None of Fresno State's metrics will turn your head, but it has a better effective field goal percentage, 2-point field goal percentage and 3-point field goal percentage than the Rebels.

Two straight wins have the momentum moving in the right direction, and Fresno State is talented enough to beat anyone in this conference, especially at home.

Fresno State's guards will need to steal the show, but I love the fact that the Bulldogs have momentum and are looking for revenge at home against a team they lost to on the road.

I'm expecting a close matchup, with Fresno taking care of business in the end.
