Tuesday NHL PrizePicks Player Props: Value on Nathan MacKinnon, Nikita Kucherov & More

The first two games of the second round of the 2022 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs are set to get underway on Tuesday. Despite the small slate, there are still some great player props to attack.

NHL Player Props
Jordan Binnington Over 30.5 Saves
Blues at Avalanche, 9:30 p.m. ET
After making a change in net while trailing their first round series 2-1 to Minnesota, the St. Louis Blues rattled off three straight wins in large part due to the outstanding performance of Jordan Binnington.
Over those three games, Binnington posted an outstanding 0.943 save percentage and 1.67 goals allowed average. With how often Colorado is able to fire pucks on net, Binnington should be able to go over this total as the Avalanche averaged an absurd 44 shots on goal per game in the first round.
I would play this total up to 31.5.
Nathan MacKinnon Over 5.5 Shots on Goal
Blues at Avalanche, 9:30 p.m. ET
If Binnington is going to go over his save total, that means Colorado will need to generate many shots on net. There is no better player to do so than MacKinnon, whose play always improves during the postseason.
In the first round, MacKinnon went over this total in each of the four games as he averaged 7.5 shots on goal. It is also worth noting that the Avalanche played St. Louis to open the playoffs last season, and MacKinnon registered six shots on net in Game 1.
I would not play this number at anything higher than 5.5.
Brayden Schenn Over 0.5 Points
Blues at Avalanche, 9:30 p.m. ET
In my last play for this game, I am backing Blues forward Brayden Schenn to find himself on the scoresheet. Schenn ended the first round in good form as he collected a point in both Games 5 and 6 to close out their series against the Minnesota Wild.
Colorado and goaltender Darcy Kuemper are good matchups for Schenn to keep it going as he registered a point in each of his appearances against Colorado this season. This season against the Blues, Kuemper possesses a mere 0.870 save percentage and 3.40 goals allowed average.
I would not play this total if it jumps up to 1.
Alex Killorn Over 0.5 Points
Lightning at Panthers, 7 p.m. ET
With the injury to forward Brayden Point, Alex Killorn could see an increase in ice time in this series.
Killorn has recorded a point in four of his last six games this postseason and should have a good shot to keep it going against Florida. During the regular season, Killorn recorded a point in each of his last three games against the Panthers.
I would not play this total if it jumps up to 1.
Nikita Kucherov Over 0.5 Hits
Lightning at Panthers, 7 p.m. ET
With a player as testy as Nikita Kucherov, he should be able to record at least one hit in a game that should be physical. Kucherov went over this total in four of the seven games the Lightning played in the first round.
In his one game against Florida in the regular season, Kucherov recorded three hits. Florida's style of play requires teams to be physical in order to slow down its fast-paced offense, which should mean that Kucherov will be able to make contact with an opponent at least once.
I would not play this total if it jumps up to 1.
