NFL Appealing Deshaun Watson Suspension: What it Means for Browns Super Bowl Odds, Jacoby Brissett

The NFL is seeking a harsher penalty for Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson, who was tabbed with a six-game suspension Monday after two dozen women filed civil lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct.
The league announced an appeal Wednesday and is reportedly seeking a full-season suspension.
Training camp's ramping up and the Hall of Fame Game is tomorrow. With so much uncertainty surrounding the Browns' 2022 season amid the Watson saga, it makes for a challenging handicap just mere weeks out from the regular season.
Jacoby Brissett is primed to take the reins under center for the duration of Watson's intermission — however long that may be.
Brissett, who inked a one-year deal with Cleveland in March, is likely to face former Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield in Week 1 against the Panthers.
The spread for the tilt originally opened at Browns -4.5, but the Watson buzz drove the number down through a key number of -3 all the way to -1.
We're currently seeing Cleveland anywhere from -0.5 to -1.5, while the total ranges from 41.5 to 42.5, depending on the book (you can shop all odds here).
Cleveland Browns Odds Update
FanDuel was the only major shop to take action on Browns futures following Thursday's Watson update.
The book moved Cleveland's Super Bowl odds from +2200 to +2400, while shifting odds to win the AFC from +1200 to +1300.
