Chiefs Acquire Orlando Brown From Ravens for Multiple Picks Ahead of NFL Draft

The Kansas City Chiefs addressed a need on the offensive line Friday, acquiring two-time Pro Bowler Orlando Brown from the Baltimore Ravens. In return, the Ravens added more picks to their collection heading into next week's NFL Draft.

The AFC contenders swung the trade, with the full haul for the Chiefs including Brown, a second-round pick (58th overall) and a 2022 second rounder in exchange for the 27th pick in this year's draft, a third-round pick (94th overall), fourth-round pick (136th) and a 2022 fifth-round pick.

Brown figures to protect quarterback Patrick Mahomes' blind side as Kansas City's left tackle. The two sides will need to agree on a contract extension. Brown is entering the final year of his current deal, with contract talks never developing between him and Baltimore. That led Brown wanting out.

Meanwhile, Baltimore now enters next week's draft with two first-round picks at No. 27 and No. 31 overall. In total, the Ravens have 10 picks, including five of the first 104 picks. That should give Baltimore plenty of options, either in the form of multiple players or potentially trading up during the draft.

Matthew Freedman's latest NFL mock draft has the Ravens taking an edge rusher with their first pick. Wide receiver is also considered a team need, and this draft class is deep at that position.

Kansas City's offensive line now features the likes of Brown, Joe Thuney, Kyle Long, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and Austin Blythe. Mike Remmers, who started 11 games in place of the injured Mitchell Schwartz, will also return.

The team lost Eric Fisher in free agency after he suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in the playoffs.
