The Boston Celtics were two wins away from an NBA title last season. They're consensus favorites to take next year's championship – and that number would certainly dip if the franchise landed Kevin Durant, which is apparently feasible.

NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowksi reported Monday the Celtics are among the teams interested in the KD sweepstakes, noting "Brooklyn's asking price is steep."

We're closing in on a month since Durant requested a trade from the Nets, which set the futures market in motion.

The Suns were initially the hot landing spot for the star forward. Phoenix opened the favorite in the next-team odds market, then moved from +1000 to a peak price of +250 to win the 2022-23 NBA title.

Durant trade rumors have semi-cooled the last few weeks, with a return to the Nets becoming more likely.

It'd take a haul, but it would be an absolutely massive splash for Boston, which became the team to beat in the betting markets on July 1 after landing Malcolm Brogdon in a trade with the Pacers.

The Celtics couldn't pull off the biggest long shot championship in league history last year. Still, they filled pockets all year, posting the sixth-best mark in the league against the spread (57-46-3) despite logging 100-plus games.
