Updated NASCAR Weather Forecast for Kansas: Sunday’s AdventHealth 400 Could Be Impacted By Rain

NASCAR has been very lucky when it comes to wet weather on raceday so far this season, though that lucky streak could end according to the latest weather forecast for Sunday's race at Kansas Speedway.
Rain and thunderstorms are in the updated NASCAR at Kansas weather forecast, and, at this point, it looks more like "how much rain" as opposed to "will it rain" Sunday in Kansas City.
But as is typically the case, the key question isn't whether it will rain, but the timing of the rain.
So with this in mind, let's take detailed look at the NASCAR at Kansas weather forecast ahead of Sunday's AdventHealth 400.
NASCAR at Kansas Weather Forecast
As I mentioned above, the weather forecast is an ugly one in Kansas City on Sunday afternoon.
There is currently a severe thunderstorm watch in effect until 2 p.m. ET, which could very easily delay Sunday's race considering the 3:12 p.m. ET (FS1) scheduled green flag.
According to the National Weather Service, Kansas City could see between one-half inch and three-quarters of inch of precipitation on Sunday, which could certainly result in a delay as officials attempt to dry the track surface at Kansas Speedway.
However, once the thunderstorm clears out on Sunday, there appears to be dry conditions for the rest of the afternoon and evening in Kansas City.
The chance of rain dips to 29% as of 4 p.m. ET and to 9% as of 6 p.m. ET, so there should be plenty of time to get the race in on Sunday once the weather clears and the track is dried.
Does Kansas Speedway Have Lights?
The good news for Sunday's AdventHealth 400 is that Kansas Speedway does have lights.
As a result, there should be no trouble getting the race completed on Sunday, especially if the weather dries out mid-afternoon, which is what is expected based on the latest NASCAR at Kansas forecast.
