UFC Betting Rules: What Happens if the Fighter Stops Between Rounds?

In UFC and other combat sports, a fighter will occasionally fail to answer the bell.

That means they survive a round without getting knocked out but don't come out for the next round — by choice of themself, their corner, or the official.

This can have an impact on your betting results. At every sportsbook we've checked, the fight will be declared over in the previous round should a fighter not answer the bell for the next round.

Let's say you bet Francis Ngannou to beat Cyril Gane in Round 3 at +1200 at UFC 270.

If Gane survived the third round but could not continue and never began Round 4, your bet would win.

The same rules would apply if you bet the fight to end in Round 3.

This type of situation drew lots of eyeballs in June of 2020 when Max Rohskopf told his trainer he couldn't go on, much to his trainer's dismay.

The official then stepped in and called the fight when Rohskopf repeatedly said he couldn't continue.
