  • There's plenty of action on today's MLB slate, which means there are plenty of PrizePicks plays to make.
  • Tony Sartori found five he likes, including picks for DJ LeMahieu, James Kaprielian and more.

Player props have become among the most popular bets in the industry, but while the amount of states with legalized gambling is growing, some may feel left out.

Enter PrizePicks.

With PrizePicks, you get the opportunity to essentially parlay game prop over/unders with cash payouts depending on how many you get correct on that day’s slate.

Therefore, let’s take a look at some of the options on Tuesday’s Major League Baseball slate and see where we can find some value to turn a profit.

A quick refresher if you aren’t familiar with PrizePicks: you can combine up to five different O/U player props to payout up to 10x your wager.

You can do a Flex Play or a Power Play. A Flex Play gives you lesser odds, but you can win money even if you don’t nail every pick. Meanwhile, a Power Play is similar to a parlay — it’s all or nothing.

Here’s how I would approach today’s MLB slate.

What is PrizePicks? A daily fantasy operator — meaning they’re available in more states (30) than sports betting is! — PrizePicks offers a unique opportunity for action on player props in which you parlay two or more plays together.

MLB PrizePicks Plays for Tuesday, May 17

James Kaprielian Pitcher Fantasy Score Over 24.5

We have the second matchup of this three-game series as the Oakland Athletics host the Minnesota Twins.

In his lone start against the Twins this season, right-hander James Kaprielian flew over this total as he allowed just one run and three hits with seven strikeouts through 5.2 innings pitched.

I expect him to have another successful outing, as the Twins have struggled this year against right-handed pitchers. When facing right-handers this season, Minnesota ranks just 19th in the league in BA and 17th in OBP.

Ramon Laureano Hitter Fantasy Score Over 5.5

I'm also backing an Oakland hitter to rack up some fantasy points as the Athletics are slated to go against right-hander Dylan Bundy.

Over 19 career plate appearances against Bundy, Laureano boasts a .294 BA, .353 SLG and .326 wOBA.

Laureano has been better at home this season, as his numbers jump up at around a 50% clip across the board. While his surface-level stats are poor this season, Laureano has still surpassed this total in four of his last eight games.

Rougned Odor Under 0.5 Total Bases

We have the second matchup of this four-game AL East divisional matchup as the Baltimore Orioles host the New York Yankees.

Odor has gone under this total in three of his last five games, and I expect him to do so once again in this contest.

Right-hander Jameson Taillon is slated to take the bump for the Yankees, and he's someone who Odor hasn't figured out in his career. Through seven career plate appearances against Taillon, Odor has struck out three times and has yet to record a hit.

Anthony Santander Hitter Fantasy Score Under 5.5

The other Baltimore hitter I'm fading in this matchup is Anthony Santander, who is just 1-7 in his career against Taillon. Santander has gone under this total in four of his last six games, and I expect him to do so once again in this matchup.

Most of Santander's success comes from hitting the long ball, which was on display with a two-homer performance on Monday. However, Taillon has a hard-hit percentage of just 36.1%, which means he could limit Santander's power in this game.

DJ LeMahieu Over 0.5 Runs + RBIs

I'm backing New York's offense in this game as well — specifically with DJ LeMahieu.

The Yankees should have a great day going against right-hander Spenser Watkins, who possesses a 5.19 ERA and 1.577 WHIP through six starts this season.

In his one career plate appearance against Watkins, LeMahieu put one over the fence. LeMahieu has gone over this total in five of his last seven games and should be a threat to do so once again in this matchup.
