On Wednesday, we travel to Milwaukee to find NRFI value as the Tampa Bay Rays match up against the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Brewers will send out their ace, Brandon Woodruff. Coming into today Woodruff reports a 14-2 NRFI record with a 5-1 home NRFI split. When facing batters for the first time through the order, Woodruff has limited opponents to a .192 batting average.

In the past, Woodruff has been successful against these Rays hitters:

  • David Peralta: 0-for-10
  • Isaac Paredes: 0-for-2
  • Yandy Diaz: 1-for-2

Ten days into August, and spanning 28 first-inning plate appearances, the Rays have the 28th ranked first-inning batting average (.091) with only six hits.

Tampa Bay's projected three-hole hitter Ji-Man Choi is just 3-for-13 in the last seven days. The Rays have cashed NRFI bets on the road 76% of the time this season, including their current 8-2 NRFI run during the last 10 games as well.

Tampa Bay's counter to Brandon Woodruff will be starting pitcher Jeffery Springs, who reports a respectable 11-3 NRFI record. Springs has held opposing leadoff hitters in check by limiting them to a lousy .184 average.

Like Woodruff, Spring has had limited success against his matchups today:

Willy Adames: 0-for-2

Andrew McCutchen: 0-for-2

Kolten Wong: 0-for-2

Brewers clean-up hitter, Hunter Renfroe, is in the midst of a 3-for-20 slump spanning the last seven days. Milwaukee also finds itself in the midst of a modest NRFI run, going 7-3 to the NRFI in its last 10 games.

Bet on these two teams trending to the NRFI and these proficient NRFI pitchers to have a collective three-up, three-down first inning. Take the NRFI between the Rays and the Brewers.

As always, six outs to glory…
