More Sportsbooks Join Arizona Sports Betting Market

Arizona has had a number of sportsbooks join its online sports betting market recently and now bettors have 18 to choose from. In addition to the Arizona sportsbooks that are already in place, there are a few more additions from the last few months to recap.

Arizona is a sports betting market that continues to grow and it's expected that more brands could join the fold down the road. The Arizona Department of Gaming announced this month that it set a betting handle record in March as the state brought in $691 million.

Here are the most recent AZ sportsbook additions.

Bally Bet

Bally Bet joined Arizona's sports betting offerings on May 5. Bally Bet has a partnership with the WNBA and the Phoenix Mercury, the Bally Bet's app launched shortly ahead of the WNBA season.

Bally Bet is set to open a retail sportsbook location at the Footprint Center in downtown Phoenix, which is the home of the mercury and the Phoenix Suns.

The Bally Bet deal with the Mercury was the first online gaming deal for a women's pro team, and the reported value of the the 15-year contract is $66 million.

Hard Rock Sportsbook

The Hard Rock Sportsbook joined the Arizona market on April 8.

The Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise (NNGE) and Hard Rock Digital launched its sportsbook app through their partnership. The NNGE operates five gaming facilities across Arizona and New Mexico.

Note that although online sports betting is legal in Arizona, is not permitted on native lands.

Desert Diamond Sports

The Tohono O'odham Tribe partnered with Desert Diamond Sports to launch the Desert Diamond Sports sportsbook app on April 2. The launch makes sense considering the popularity of the brand in the Tucson and Phoenix areas.

There was some speculation that the Tohono O'odham Tribe would partner with one of the big sportsbook brands, but instead they created their own sportsbook. The Desert Diamond Sports app is a local one that features odds boosts for Arizona-based teams.
