The 2021 Masters was another fantastic week of golf even if it lacked a bit of drama at the end due to the dominance of Hideki Matsuyama. The Japanese star became the first player from his country to win a major championship, and he will go down in history for that feat.

Matsuyama tried to make things interesting as he surprisingly went for the green in two on the Par 5 15th, but hit it over the green and into the penalty area beyond the hole. Xander Schauffele would capitalize to cut the lead to two, before immediately giving both strokes back and more on the next hole after hitting a shot of his own in the water. Matsuyama cruised home from there, ultimately with a one-shot victory over up-and-coming star Will Zalatoris.

The first major of the new year is in the books, with the PGA Championship up next in a little more than a month from the Ocean Course in Kiawah, SC. This week, the TOUR will go to another coastal spot in South Carolina as it ventures to Hilton Head for the RBC Heritage. There seems to be more big names than usual teeing it up the week after The Masters, and despite not having strokes gained data, we can find some carrying good form into Harbour Town.

Buys for RBC Heritage

I'll start things off with defending champion Webb Simpson (+800), who will come into this off a T12 finish at The Masters that likely has him feeling major regrets about his second round. Simpson was in good position after a difficult opening round, then went into the easiest scoring day and posted a 4-over 76. He would climb back from that to shoot 4-under on the weekend, but was plagued by the double bogey around Augusta National.

I will still be looking right at Simpson to start my week as he will come in as a favorite in this field, and has the perfect game to once again run hot on this course. There isn't a need for distance at Harbour Town, but Simpson's elite iron play will play a big factor and I expect he will be in contention throughout the week at the RBC Heritage.

There is no way I can go through a buy column off of Masters performance and not mention Will Zalatoris (+2000). He had his "Hello World" moment this week at Augusta National where he finished solo second for a cool $1.2 million despite still not earning his PGA Tour card.

Willy Z will head east to Hilton Head for the RBC Heritage this week, and as mentioned with Simpson above, this track is set up to favor elite iron players. There aren't many who striped it better on approach than Zalatoris at The Masters and that play will have him as a popular guy heading into the RBC Heritage.

One of the best players of the past few events has been Brian Harman (+2800) who worked his way into The Masters with a strong finish at the WGC Dell Match Play. Harman took full advantage at Augusta National where he finished in a tie for 12th.

Harbour Town should be a course that better fits the game of the Georgia Bulldog as it is a shorter track requiring a bit more accuracy off the tee than distance. Harman also has shown some good course history at this event with three made cuts in his past four appearances, including a Top 10 in 2017.
