Jon Rahm Tests Positive for COVID-19, Withdraws From Summer Olympics in Tokyo

Just one day after Bryson DeChambeau was forced to withdraw from the Tokyo Olympics following a positive COVID-19 test, the world's top-ranked golfer will also miss a chance at a gold medal.

Jon Rahm has tested positive for COVID-19, meaning he was forced to withdraw from the Summer Games just a few days before men's golf is scheduled to start.

Back in June, Rahm had no choice but to withdraw from the Memorial Tournament despite holding a six-stroke lead with just 18 holes left to play, meaning this is second positive COVID-19 test for the world's No. 1 golfer in less than two months.

And while Patrick Reed will replace DeChambeau, the window is too tight for Spain to find a substitute to join the Olympic field at this point, meaning there will be no replacement for Rahm.

With Rahm now out, Collin Morikawa (+700) is the favorite at the Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas, followed by Xander Schauffele (+800), Justin Thomas (+900) and Rory McIlroy at +1000 odds.

The first round of men's golf will get underway Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. ET, with the competition airing on the Golf Channel.
