How Carson Wentz Trade To Colts Impacts Super Bowl Odds

The Carson Wentz bidding is over, and the Indianapolis Colts have their new quarterback.
As first reported by ESPN, the Colts acquired Wentz from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a 2021 third-round pick and a 2022 second rounder, which could become a first-round selection.
The move isn't all that surprising. It's been clear the Eagles and Wentz were headed for a breakup, with the Colts being one of two favorites across sportsbooks offering his next team prop.
The Chicago Bears were the other favored destination, but as days went on with no move being made, it was clear the interested teams weren't budging on their offers.
Super Bowl odds for the Colts aren't expected to see much movement. Indianapolis is 29-1 at FanDuel, and 25-1 at both PointsBet and BetMGM. DraftKings slightly adjusted the Colts down from 25-1 to 22-1 odds.
However, the Colts moved from +130 to +105 to win AFC South at PointsBet following the trade.
Wentz will be reunited with Colts head coach Frank Reich, who was the Eagles' offensive coordinator in 2016-17. The former first-round pick will welcome the change to Indianapolis considering the upgrade he'll get in protection. The Eagles' offensive line struggled to protect Wentz.
The Colts needed to replace Philip Rivers, who spent one year with the team. Indianapolis was a wild card team last year at 11-5, finishing second in the AFC South behind the Tennessee Titans.
Meanwhile, the Eagles — now 66-1 at DraftKings to win the Super Bowl — have to answer their quarterback question. New head coach Nick Sirianni comes over from the Colts and can choose between either Jalen Hurts or potentially using the No. 6 pick in the NFL Draft on a quarterback.
