The U.S. Open returns to Torrey Pines in 2021 for the first time since Tiger Woods won the tournament on one leg in 2008.

Woods beat Rocco Mediate in a playoff that year while dealing with a fracture in his leg and later requiring ACL surgery. Unfortunately, Woods will not be able to win again in 2021.

There's still plenty of talent and intrigue on the board, though. Phil Mickelson proved at Kiawah Island in May that the talent on TOUR right now is unlike any other, and he was nowhere near the top of the leaderboard for the PGA Championship.

Even though he tested positive for COVID-19 on June 5, Jon Rahm is favored to capture his first major championship. Rahm (+800) played a stellar three rounds at the Memorial Tournament and was set to win it for a second straight year before withdrawing.

The first round is set to tee off at Torrey Pines on June 17, which will be 12 days after Rahm received news of his positive test at Muirfield Village. He came into contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19 on May 31.

Behind Rahm is reigning U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau, who is tied at +1200 with Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas. World No. 1 Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Xander Schauffele and Jordan Spieth all at +1400.

Next on the leaderboard are Viktor Hovland and Collin Morikawa at +2200. Former major champions Hideki MatsuyamaPatrick Reed and Webb Simpson are tied at +2500 with Patrick Cantlay, who beat Morikawa in a playoff at the Memorial.
